Test / Validation Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that system requirements are met by validating component and system level specifications.
  • Lead test activities by creating test plans and reports and overseeing their execution.
  • Accurately document test protocols and results in formal reports.
  • Identify design risks (DFMEA) and develop test protocols to assess high-level risk items, driving design improvements and validating critical manufacturing tests.
  • Stay up-to-date with International Test Standards and propose and implement necessary changes.
  • Utilize computer-aided design programs to produce mechanical design documents and models supporting design validation testing.
  • Provide direction for process development and manage change requests based on test outcomes.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities and other related projects.
  • Design jigs, guards, and fixtures to facilitate assembly processes.
  • Offer consultation to other teams and troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of innovative technologies, methods, and techniques.
  • Assist in prototyping, assembling, and testing design parts.
  • Research, develop, and implement new technologies, methods, and techniques in manufacturing.

 

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering or Technology field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in detailed part and product design.
  • Proficiency in using camera and video recording devices for diagnostic testing.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems for testing and analyzing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in design and development tools, including Solid Works 3D and AutoCAD 2D.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Linux, and Ubuntu.
  • Ability to design for multiple fabrication and material methods, such as injection molding, castings, machined parts, and sheet metal.
  • Experience working independently or in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management, external customers, and vendors.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English language (reading and writing).
