Currently recruiting for Software Engineering Team Leads! - (Sounds Radio & Music Services)

You will help expand and develop our clients Radio and Music infrastructure.

app teams in Glasgow. You will have a leading role in an engineering team responsible for Sounds Radio & Music Services that delivers an intuitive and engaging experience to millions of audiences.

Software Engineering Team Leads responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of approx five-six software engineers working on our suite of microservices
  • Drive technical direction and decision-making
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Develop exciting new features
  • Build out the Radio and Music infrastructure on AWS
  • Learn new technologies and techniques
  • Advise product managers and project managers on the complexities of planned work, including providing time and resource estimates in the planning of projects

Technical Leadership:

  • Build and evolve a television and radio networks to deliver innovative and exciting online experiences
  • Play a key role in the technical direction of the Sounds team
  • Advocate new technologies and approaches to ensure our products are industry leading
  • Provide domain expertise across the mobile teams
  • Ensure a high standard of engineering excellence within our product

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Have the ability to lead, coach mentor and line manage a team of 4 engineers
  • Have experience working with cross-discipline peers including Product Managers, Delivery Managers and Design Leads
  • Be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in an organisation
  • Strong Android experience, with deep understanding of Android app architecture and design idioms
  • Proficient in AWS and Java or Scala
  • Demonstrable understanding of Test-Driven Development
  • Experience of source control systems such as Git
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and building systems such as Jenkins
