Overview
Our client, a leading transformation and services organisation, is embarking on a major multi-year programme. As part of this strategic initiative, they are delivering a comprehensive operating model that integrates with a newly implemented ERP platform and underpins end-to-end service delivery across contact centres, data management, automation, and AI.
They are seeking an Implementation Director to take overall ownership of this large-scale, multi-party implementation programme leading planning, execution, and delivery across operational, technical, people, commercial and governance streams.
This is a pivotal leadership position, responsible for ensuring the successful and timely transition of services and systems while building the foundation for continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as overall programme lead, accountable for the successful delivery of the organisation's implementation strategy and service transition.
  • Develop, agree, and manage an achievable implementation plan covering all internal and external delivery partners.
  • Oversee dependency, risk, and issue management (RAID), ensuring appropriate escalation and mitigation across all workstreams.
  • Establish clear governance and reporting mechanisms, ensuring alignment between internal and client-side structures.
  • Manage multi-million-pound budgets, ensuring accurate financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Drive delivery excellence with global technology and systems integration partners.
  • Provide strong leadership to a cross-functional team (4-5 direct reports) spanning technical delivery, programme office, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with security, assurance, and data protection standards across the solution.
  • Lead ongoing change control and impact assessment processes in coordination with client and supplier stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Attributes

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale, complex implementation or transformation programmes - ideally in central government or large-scale service delivery environments.
  • Proven success delivering integrated, multi-party technical solutions within a client-facing or professional services context.
  • Track record of managing international delivery partners and ERP-related implementations.
  • Expertise in phased service transitions and operational readiness programmes.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, able to operate confidently at executive level.
  • Exceptional communication, governance, and risk management capability.
  • Experience managing cross-functional delivery teams and large-scale programme budgets.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable operating in complex and evolving environments.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering shared service or contact centre solutions.
  • Familiarity with public sector programmes and associated political or regulatory environments.
  • Awareness of digital inclusion, accessibility, and ethics in service delivery.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (Level 2) for the duration of the role.
  • This is a UK-based role with flexibility for remote working and occasional nationwide travel.
