Contract AWS Solution Architect (Optimisation & Review)
Contract: 3-6 Months | Outside IR35
Rate: Circa £700/day
Location: Fully Remote in UK - occasional travel to London
Start Date: October 2025

We are looking for a highly experienced AWS Solution Architect to join a rapidly scaling SAAS organisation on a contract.

This is not a greenfield design-and-build project - the infrastructure is already in place and operating well - but with rapid user growth and heavy platform usage, we need a seasoned architect to review, optimise, and ensure scalability and efficiency.

You'll take ownership of reviewing the current cloud architecture, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing recommendations to ensure the platform can handle millions of concurrent users efficiently.

This is a hands-on, senior role where authority and expertise will be critical to influencing the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a full review of the existing AWS architecture and infrastructure.
• Identify opportunities to optimise performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Analyse how data is being stored, segregated, and accessed to improve efficiency for high-volume user activity.
• Work closely with the development team to recommend and implement architectural improvements.
• Act as a trusted authority to challenge existing decisions where necessary and drive best practices.
• Ensure the architecture is future-proofed for continued growth and heavy load usage.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as an AWS Solution Architect in high-scale environments.
• Strong background in architecture review, optimisation, and performance tuning (not just greenfield design).
• Experience with large-scale, data-intensive systems and real-time user tracking.
• Experience working on a platform that is scaling rapidly
• Ability to influence and lead technical discussions with senior developers and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with cost optimisation, monitoring, and security best practices in AWS.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present clear recommendations and get buy-in from cross-functional teams.
