Business Analyst - Hybrid, 3 days a week in London - Up to £75,000 per annum
A dynamic and innovative fintech organisation is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst to join its technology team.
Our client an innovative and light footed fintech startup/scaleup brand are on a mission to revolutionise the credit and lending space.
The brand who has now been running for the last 10 years and backed by VC investment are looking to continue their growth journey and this role will support the delivery of impactful technology projects across the organisation.
The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role within the technology team, collaborating closely with developers, QA specialists, product owners, and business stakeholders to shape and deliver new software features on the company's platform.
This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, bringing clarity and structure to complex challenges, and ensuring that business needs are accurately translated into technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis and Documentation
- Lead discovery processes for new features and enhancements, working with stakeholders to define business and functional requirements.
- Produce clear, structured documentation including business requirements, user stories, project specifications, process flows, and wireframes.
- Translate business processes into actionable technical tasks and user stories.
- Maintain documentation from initial discovery through delivery and ongoing iteration.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with internal stakeholders across business, compliance, and technology teams to ensure shared understanding of goals and priorities.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to capture detailed requirements and validate proposed solutions.
- Participate in refinement sessions and daily stand-up meetings to support smooth project delivery.
Process & Project Support
- Help define, document, and improve internal business processes in collaboration with operational teams.
- Support the modelling and refinement of business workflows.
- Ensure alignment between technical outputs and business objectives throughout the development lifecycle.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within fintech or financial services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across discovery, documentation, and delivery phases.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA and Balsamiq (or similar wireframing tools).
Desirable Experience
- Background in agile product development environments.
- Familiarity with process modelling techniques and business process automation tools, including BPMN modelling (e.g., Flowable).
- Understanding of FCA regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, and EMI licence considerations (in partnership with compliance teams).
- Exposure to user experience design or customer journey mapping (internal-facing).
- Strong interest in business operations and process improvement.
