develop has partnered exclusively with a unique fintech who are transforming the way in which their trade finance platform enables banks to automate and scale their capital solutions at large . They're actively looking for a new VP of Engineering who will be incredibly involved on a technical, leadership and strategic level with the company - how 'you' does that sound?

Salary on offer is between £150,000 - £170,000 and you will be required to come in to the office twice a week, based in Central London.

I am looking to speak with someone who has an extensive background working within Financial Services whereby they have worked on multiple projects throughout the year and successfully delivered time and time again. You will have solid experience of scaling the Engineering function of a company throughout your career and have the tenacity and resilience to get stuck in again ????.

In this role you will be rejuvenating the current Engineering teams whilst also scaling them. You will have worked with database-focused technology before and won't be afraid to dive in, modernise and transform the technological platform of the company. Ideally you will have excellent experience in breaking down large monolithic applications to microservice based architecture, this will have been with a Java development background too (they are currently using Java 11 however have plans to modernise in the near future to 17 ????).

For this role you'll need to be database savvy too in order to fully understand how the platform works, understand the concurrency issues that can come with database applications and begin rearchitecting this in order to move towards microservice based architecture in the future. This company are working on being the go-to when it comes to an API first approach, if this is where your mindset is then this is absolutely the role for you ????.

You will be reporting directly to the CTO and will be collaborating with a number of different teams across the business in order to formulate a plan of what the platform should look like as the company scales and be tackling issues to improve reliability and make the platform more scalable, modular, and also easier to implement.

I'm looking to speak with people who really appreciate databases, who come from a Financial Services background where databases are core to their systems and who have scaled up Engineering teams in the past and are ready to get cracking again!

This will be an immensely rewarding position with a fantastic fintech that is about to embark on an epic growth journey - to be a part of it please apply with your CV asap!
