  • Our client is one of largest and fastest growing technology distribution and specialist service providers, and they are looking for a permanent UI Engineer

    You will be designing, building, delivering and testing digital products. The UI engineer will be accountable and responsible for the design, information architecture and build decisions to meet commercial targets.

    Reporting into the head of user experience, the UI Engineer will have the following responsibilities

    • Create storyboards for information ladder and site maps.
    • Design low fidelity website and user flow mockups.
    • Establish methods and tools to ensure the design and development process is efficient.
    • Analyse requirements and produce efficient software solutions.
    • Build and maintain current marketing and commercial websites.
    • Manage the maintenance and releases process.
    • Build components and templates to make future development more efficient.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and to specification

    We are looking for the following skills and experience in the successful UI Engineer:

    • 3-5 years' experience in software design and development.
    • Demonstrable experience designing & building effective websites.
    • Knowledge of Wordpress and PHP.
    • Good commercial understanding and focus.
    • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript and Bootstrap frameworks.
    • Knowledge of W3C Accessibility Standards.
    • Ability to communicate requirements and issues clearly and use these to rationalise development decisions.
    • Recognised higher level learning in software engineering related fields - desirable

    This role sits within the UX team but with plenty of autonomy. They will ensure you will develop faster, learn more and be part of diverse forward thinking business.
