Scala Data Engineer - Up to 80k - Nottinghamshire - 80% remote working


An internationally renowned FinTech company is looking for a talented Scala/data Engineer to join its dynamic team. They are a best in class Global information company which collects and aggregates information on over 1 billion people and businesses worldwide including 235 million individual U.S. consumers and more than 25 million U.S. businesses!


The company are looking for an ambitious Scala engineer to join a recently formed agile team. The team is embarking on an exciting Tech transformation project based around a pioneering data product, they will be using the latest technologies such as Scala, Kubernetes, Microservices and AWS.


The project is 100% new tech and zero legacy work! You will be tasked with solving dynamic problems and implementing new features on a cutting edge data product with a truly global reach.


The ideal candidate for this role will have in-depth experience of the software development lifecycle and bring a strong sense of ownership and responsibility around the products and services they deliver.



Duties include:

  • Working as part of an exciting agile team to develop quality solutions within required deadline.
  • Collaborating effectively with a talented team to support and enhance the full product lifecycle.
  • Reviewing proposals, evaluating alternatives, providing estimates and making recommendations.
  • Serving as an expert on applications and providing technical support



Skills required:

  • Solid experience writing quality Scala Code
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Solid communication skills
  • Experience with the Spark framework
