Lead Software Engineer- PHP, React and AWS

We are working with a tech for good start up who are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join them. This is a role which they see transitioning in to a VP of Engineering role eventually and one which allow you to have huge amounts of impact and add tons of value to a genuinely exciting company whose product has the ability to both change and save lives.

You will be working very closely with CTO of the business and together you will move their platform in house (current platform has been built by UK based agency) you will then be responsible for building out their development team 8 over the next 12-18 months. As the first in house Developer you will be responsible for deciding on the development culture and processes there.

This is the role for you if you want to take on a position which will see your career and growth pushed to the next level. You will be very hands on as you initially build out their platform whilst also mentoring and training other developers as they start to join your team. This is a role which consist of hands on coding, making architectural decisions, mentoring junior members of the team and implementing new ideas and designs to their platform.

My clients tech stack is below:

• PHP with Laravel. Experience with Symfony also fine.
• JavaScript and React Native. Experience with other modern JavaScript frameworks i.e. Vue, Angular React also fine.
• AWS Lambda.
• AWS Opsworks & Chef for deployment.
• SQL and relational/noSQL databases.
• HTML, CSS/SASS.

You will be working in a nimble and fast paced start up BUT they truly value work life balance and you don't have to worry about being expected to work crazy hours and risk burnout.

Salary for the role is £75,000-£90,000 plus 25 days holiday, Soho house membership, Equity package DOE and more.

You will be expected in their central London office 2/3 times a month to work with the product team who are in x2 a week.
