Lead Platform Engineer- Remote/South Wales- up to £85k Bonus and Benefits

Our client a revolutionary tech brand that were awarded one of the UK's best workplace in 2022 are looking to grow out their fairly new Platform Engineering function in South Wales, adding a Lead Platform Engineer to help deliver a re-platforming project.

The client, a household brand with a huge client base are a tech driven business that focuses on agile and cross functional products which aim to save customers money.

The tech skillset required for this Lead Platform Engineer:

  • Experience with automating Microsoft Azure deployments using Terraform or ARM/Bicep and designing Cloud systems.
  • Experience with API Gateways, DNS and load-balancing for a micro service architecture (preferably using CloudFlare)
  • Experience of using data to drive decision making
  • Experience of building and operating consumer-facing websites.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (or another CICD tool) to automate software releases to customers.
  • Knowledge of cloud provider design principles, like Azure and AWS' Well-Architected frameworks
  • Scripting experience in either PowerShell, Python or Bash
  • Industry experience in implementing platform engineering approaches, and offering services to internal customers.
  • Demonstrable lead experience in either a Lead title or as a Senior ready to take a step up


This client runs a hybrid working arrangement, 2 days per week in their office in Cardiff.
