We are currently in search of an experienced CloudOps Team leader for a permanent role with our client, a prominent UK-based organization functioning as a Telecommunications service provider. This role would be perfect for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and is interested in management.

Role Overview:

This team is responsible for the design, support and delivery of high level and technical products and services and as such need to work to exacting standards of quality and professionalism at all times. In addition, this person will assume responsibility for the availability, performance, resilience and security of the core platform and infrastructure and will undertake whatever actions necessary to ensure this within the agreed operating constraints and budget

What you'll be doing:

Management:
* Manage the team.
* Own the management and administration of the CloudOps roadmap.
* Represent the CloudOps team at meetings.
* Setting and managing regular goals and appraisals

Core work:
* Design, build and maintain our Cloud Infrastructure (currently AWS)
* Manage our IaC (Terraform)
* Provide L4 support for the operations team
* Manage the bi-annual patching of our AWS Platform
* Ensure all backup processes for network equipment and servers are robust running according to the backup policy.
* Ensure IT systems are protected against virus infections and infections are controlled in accordance with best practice.
* Facilitate the resolution of security risks associated with the AWS Platform when identified
* Investigate new technologies to be added to our estate when required
* Ensure all documentation is maintained up-to-date, accurately and in an easily understood manner.
* Be involved in regular audits of company equipment and software used and recommend improvements and upgrades.

* Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
* Good knowledge in network engineering
* IaC (Terraform, Terraform Cloud)
* Virtualisation (Docker, KVM, VMWare)
* Ansible
* Git
* Linux
* Networking (Routing and Switching)
* CI/CD (Pipelines)
