Technical Architect| 2 stage process | Consultancy | Mostly Remote | Northern Ireland | £60-£70k

I am collaborating with a renowned consultancy that is seeking multiple Technical Architects to join an expanding infrastructure team in Northern Ireland. This role offers the flexibility to work primarily from your home office or attend the office on a hybrid or full-time basis. It's crucial to note that candidates must be eligible for security clearance, meeting the following criteria:

  1. Status: British Citizen/Settled Status/Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
  2. Residency: Minimum of 5 years' residency in the UK

As a Technical Architect within my client's Architecture Practice, you will work on assignments within project teams, providing technical designs and guidance for various aspects of infrastructure solutions to address customer requests.

Your responsibilities will encompass producing high-level and low-level designs, offering advice and support for transitions, transformations, and deliveries across a range of initiatives. These may include cloud migrations, data center relocations, server-based computing, and desktop transformation technologies such as VDI and application virtualization.

The role of a Technical Architect also involves applying functional knowledge and technical expertise to design systems that align with customer needs.

The following skills and experience are sought in a Technical Architect:

  • Effective Communication: Ability to adapt written and verbal communication to suit different audiences, with formal presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Documentation: Confidence in creating high-quality design documentation, including diagrams and accurate supporting text.
  • Customer Focus: Strong emphasis on customer service and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commercial Awareness: Understanding the importance of monitoring costs and benefits, with the ability to communicate issues early if they could have an impact.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency as a technical subject matter expert, contributing to the delivery of technical programs of work.
  • Technology Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of multiple technologies, supported by industry certifications.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work both under direction and independently.
  • IT Background: Extensive career background in IT, with recent experience in an Infrastructure Specialist or Technical Architect role.
  • Stress Management: Capability to manage stress and perform at a high standard in high-pressure environments.
  • Technical Artifacts: Demonstrated experience in delivering quality technical artifacts.
  • Technology Trends: Familiarity with technology market trends.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at project/program management levels.
  • Governance Knowledge: Good understanding of governance practices.
  • Positive Mindset: A can-do attitude with a growth mindset.

It's important to note that this is not a Business as Usual (BAU) role and is not suited to individuals solely focused on cloud architecture; it will predominantly involve Microsoft 365. Candidates are expected to be subject matter experts, covering a broader range of expertise beyond just Citrix.

What's in it for you:

  • Holiday: 23 days (rising to 27) with the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Benefits: Company-matched pension, life assurance, cycle-to-work scheme, generous maternity/adoption/shared parental leave, paternity pay, and more.
  • Volunteering: Paid time off for volunteering with charity partners or causes of your choice.
  • Voluntary Benefits: A range of benefits tailored to your lifestyle, from retail discounts to health and wellbeing offerings.
  • Employee Network Groups: Opportunities to connect and learn from colleagues through diverse Employee Network Groups.
