A position for a Senior Technical Architect is available in the Product Group of a well-known media organization. The ideal candidate should have experience or the skills to become a technical architect and have a passion for creating world-class systems with global reach. The role involves working with cutting-edge technology and developing innovative ideas to enhance the online experiences of the organization's audience.

The successful candidate will work with a range of multi-disciplinary experts, including development teams that focus on best-practice engineering. The focus of the role will be on Content Discovery, where the aim is to help the global audience find the content that is best suited to them through the use of ML-powered recommendations engines, search engines, advertising solutions, websites, mobile apps, and more.

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about both new technology opportunities and new ways of creating services that entertain, educate, and inform the audience. This is an opportunity to make a difference through creativity and working with talented teams.

The Senior Technical Architect will work with product and development teams and the organization's architecture teams, and therefore will have the opportunity to influence both the products directly responsible for and the wider online presence of the organization. The role requires a big-picture mindset towards opportunities and the technical skills to create products on AWS and other platforms.

You may have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following:
You'll also have experience in some (though definitely not all) of the following technologies:

  • Cloud technologies, such as AWS.
  • Machine learning, artificial intelligence and/or big data technologies
  • Personalisation technologies (such as segmentation or recommendation engines)
  • MarTech technologies (including campaign management, predictive analytics, etc.)
  • Rich data services (including data stores, event-driven architectures, and high-traffic APIs)
  • Websites at scale, and/or mobile apps, and/or powerful backends (APIs, etc.)
  • The fundamentals of Internet networking, databases, API design, microservices, security, and other standard technologies in a modern online SOA.
