I am currently working with a global consultancy who believe in making Britain more connected so we can all lead smarter, greener lives. They have built the secure infrastructure that is supporting the mass roll-out of smart meters across the country.

You will be working as part of a strong technical team of experts, inside the CTO function, which drives the quality of the delivery of Communications Hubs as an integral part of the Smart Metering Implementation Program. The candidate will use its expertise to interface and drive quality assurance and design decisions with teams across multiple functions.

This job can be based in either London or Manchester and you will be reporting into the Lead Product Design SME, offering a salary range of £49000-£52000 per annum.

Skills and Experiences Essential

• Software and firmware defect triage, test, validation and qualification.
• Data analytics experience including specialised tools.
• Technical documentation and authoring.
• Well-versed on the application of technical specifications in consumer products.
• Experience on working with wireless systems/technologies, more specifically on the Smart Metering sector.
• ZigBee HAN debugging and evidence capturing.
• Energy Supplier IT Systems, including Smart Metering Head End Systems.
• Communication and presentation skills: ability to convey messages to different audiences in appropriate manner/method and deliver the desired outcome.
• Organisational skills: ability to handle effectively multiple concurrent work streams.
• Focus and thoroughness: ability to consume large quantity of information whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to perform under pressure and to work using own initiative as well as part of a team.
• A self-starting individual with a strong work ethic capable of planning and managing own time effectively.

THE ROLE:

• Execution of project deliverables; applying appropriate knowledge, skills, tools, techniques and practice at each stage and with effective stakeholder management.
• Responsible for follow through and review of technical feasibility of changes to the Communications Hub products and overall impact to service including clearly defining risk and mitigation.
• Ensuring Service Providers' designs comply with the Smart Energy Code and Licence.
• Authoring and reviewing technical documentation.
• Field and Test Lab qualification of CH & SM-WAN issues.
• Working and technical know-how of SMETS2, CHTS, GBCS, DUIS, Zigbee, DLMS with respect to assuring product design but also supporting on operational impacted issue resolution for products.
