Product Analyst Position Overview

As a Product Analyst, you will play a vital role in enhancing the in-game features and design of free-to-play mobile games through data-driven solutions. Your responsibilities will include analyzing player interactions, monitoring key performance metrics, conducting AB testing on in-game elements, and creating automated data visualization dashboards. Effective communication of your findings to development, management, and data science teams will be essential. You will collaborate closely with our development and design teams to ensure your insights inform decision-making and drive the growth of our clients' free-to-play mobile games.

Your Team and Responsibilities

The Product team takes a comprehensive approach to game development, encompassing features, launches, roadmaps, user acquisition, and monetization. Leveraging petabyte-scale data analytics, industry expertise, and creative intuition, they make data-driven decisions to shape the future of our games.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data-Driven Insights:
    • Develop and define key performance indicators (KPIs) and models for assessing game performance.
    • Analyze extensive and intricate data sets representing the behavior of millions of mobile game players.
    • Offer actionable recommendations and insights derived from game data to influence feature development and the product roadmap.
    • Break down, visualize, and articulate your findings to cross-functional teams, leading discussions on product improvements.
  • AB Tests:
    • Create, own, and manage an evolving AB test roadmap.
    • Design tests to investigate hypotheses and uncover valuable customer insights.
    • Translate successful AB test results into verified product features that address user needs.
  • Business-to-Consumer Product Management:
    • Serve as the central point of contact across the organization for a product.
    • Understand, track, and scrutinize the entire mobile app lifecycle, spanning Production, Engineering, Art, User Acquisition, and Monetization.
    • Design features with tracking capabilities to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong mathematical and quantitative analysis abilities.
  • Comfort working with extensive, complex data sets.
  • Methodical and logical problem-solving approach.
  • Creative thinking to generate and validate insights through data analysis.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel, with experience in Python being a valuable addition.
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Redash, QlikView, or similar tools.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with engineers, artists, leadership, and peers.
  • Proven capacity to break down, explain, and defend analytical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong product advocacy and deep understanding of the product to engage effectively with any audience.
  • Desire and aptitude for managing and leading a mobile application.
