We are seeking an experienced systems security engineer with a strong offensive technical skill set to join a dedicated customer.
The ideal candidate will possess penetration testing experience and be capable of identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across a variety of customer environments and capabilities.
Additionally, excellent communication skills are required, as the ability to clearly and concisely articulate technical issues to clients is critical to delivering value. Breaking down complicated technical issues is a crucial skill that this role demands.
Day to day responsibilities for the Penetration Tester - Security Engineer:
- Engineer, implement, and monitor computer systems, network, and information security measures
- Define system security requirements and identify potential vulnerabilities
- Design purple team testing scenarios with actionable remediation plans
- Create and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to automate repeatable tasks and mitigate vulnerabilities
- Rapidly communicate security incidents to the company
- Write detailed reports outlining assessment findings, outcomes, and recommendations for system security enhancement.
(I appreciate this is a long list, but ideally the successful candidate will have experience in majority of the below)
Expertise in red and purple teaming techniques, including designing and delivering penetration testing outcomes- Proficient in threat landscape modelling and driving change through demonstrated technology and security best practices
- Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop environments, virtualization technologies, and Unix systems
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in complex outsourced and multi-stakeholder environments
- Proven track record as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer with experience building and maintaining security systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security, and hands-on experience with security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, and more
- Experience with network security and networking technologies, as well as system, security, and network monitoring tools
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols, including those related to web applications, web services, service-oriented architectures, and network/web-related
- CREST or OCSP qualifications are desirable.
