Contract Data Engineer - £358 UMRELLA / £262.95 PAYE - Inside IR35 - 3 days a week onsite (choose from London, Newcastle or Coventry)

The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the Advanced Data Analytics Portfolio (DAP) by leading the development, implementation, review, and establishment of data solutions and techniques critical to our data-driven initiatives. This role is pivotal for driving data capabilities and its broader stakeholders, working in close collaboration with project managers, data scientists, counter fraud experts, stakeholders, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development & Management: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient data processing and preparation for analysis.
  • Data Model Development: Create, maintain, and enhance data models to support analytics needs.
  • Data Processing & Preparation: Process data for analysis and ensure it aligns with NHSCFA's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Data Infrastructure Management: Develop and document robust, scalable, and secure data storage solutions within a cloud computing environment.
  • Analytics Support: Collaborate with teams to design analytical services, products, and models, aligning with the strategic framework.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with project managers, data scientists, counter fraud experts, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that advance organisational objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and optimise data pipelines, ensuring they meet security, performance, and scalability standards.


Qualifications

  • Practical implementation of data solutions using Azure tech stack (Data factory, DataLakes, Notebooks, Synapse warehouse)#Worked with varied data sources
  • On-Prem databases, Data Lakes , ERP systems)
  • API Integration
  • Complex data transformation using PYSPARK, SQL and optimization techniques.
  • Good understanding of Data modelling and Warehousing concepts.
  • Data Documentation
  • Basic Machine learning experience
  • Good to have: Experience in Fabric
