Position: Senior Solutions Architect - HYBRID (2 days on site)

About Us: We are actively seeking a seasoned Senior Solutions Architect to join a leading UK-based organization. This organization plays a central role as a communication service provider, and they are at the forefront of innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities: As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will take on the role of Design Lead for CTO Programmes, overseeing the development, maintenance, and presentation of end-to-end architecture. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the end-to-end architecture of programs, providing leadership to other domain architects.
  • Ensuring cohesive integration of designs across applications, data, infrastructure, security, and service domains.
  • Developing and presenting key design artifacts, including High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, and Interface Specifications.
  • Creating roadmaps that adopt or design new functionality to support market evolution.
  • Ensuring service design aligns with common standards, controls, and the client's target operating model.
  • Providing input to the technology roadmap and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Assuring adherence to standards by Service Providers and overseeing technical content within the Programme Design Authority.
  • Applying a Systems Engineering approach to implementation projects and operational changes.
  • Assuring Service Providers' designs and working closely with Program leadership to engage with senior stakeholders on solution designs.

Essential Skills and Experiences:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading design activities for complex, multi-technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in multiple architectural domains, with a focus on applications and infrastructure, including Cloud adoption.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the bigger picture while delving into details when necessary.
  • Knowledge of key technology risks and experience in applying architectural tools and methods.
  • Ownership of ideas from inception to delivery.
  • Client-facing experience within a regulatory context.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
  • Self-starting individual with effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Skills and Experiences:

  • Knowledge of the Smart Meter Implementation Programme (SMETS1/SMETS2).
  • Understanding of the energy industry.
  • Established relationships with DESNZ, Ofgem, and Industry representatives.
  • Knowledge of Smart Energy Code and Licence Conditions.
  • Experience in mission-critical, transformation, and publicly visible change programmes.
