Growing up, develop’s Zach Puzey wanted to be a millionaire (don’t we all…) and this is something that hasn’t changed as he’s grown up. Zach is yet to hit millionaire status, however, his entrepreneurial nature has helped him to get on his way.
From manual labour to eCommerce to sales, Zach has continually worked hard but once he entered the world of commission he never looked back.
Working in recruitment for 10-months before joining develop, Zach was debating whether to go back into the yachting industry or whether he should join develop. In his interview with develop’s Managing Director Joey Tait, Zach recalls Joey saying ‘give me 6 months’ and two years later Zach’s still here, living in Miami and loving every minute.

One of the things Zach loves about recruitment is that he runs his own desk, “you’re in control and you know if you work hard and put the effort in, you’ll see the rewards. It’s so cliché, but the work hard play hard mantra is definitely appropriate to the recruitment industry.”
Joining develop as a Java Consultant in our Germany team, when the opportunity arose for him to join the Miami team to launch the office alongside our US Head of Development, Zach jumped at the opportunity. “As soon as I found out about develop’s plans to open a Miami office I was instantly excited. I started researching into the city, and the culture before I began discussions with Joey and Kev; as soon as they asked me if it was something I was interested in there was no hesitation from me.”
Working the Miami market from the UK for 12-months meant changing working hours to fit the time difference and Friday nights were spent on client calls instead of being out with friends. But it’s something that Zach would never change, “this is one of the biggest opportunities I’ve had.”
Relocating to a market that is booming, that needs Head-hunters like develop is amazing. “The support from develop to help with the relocation was seamless; I think I filled out two forms, and the team handled everything for me from logistics to finances to visas.” Despite all the excitement, Zach has mentioned that he’ll miss his dogs alongside friends and family. Unfortunately, we can’t pack these particular items in our suitcases when we next fly out but we’ll take some Dairy Milk as the next best thing.
The opportunities available at develop are unmatched and Zach’s progress from working in the German Java team to moving out to Miami is a testament to him and the hard work he’s put in. He’s excited about what the US has to offer but we’re more excited about what Zach and Will are going to offer Miami.
